i dont think so.

cuz if its not growing in the first place, why would it magically grow???

plus, is it possible that your friend has an iron deficiency or stress??? those could be the reasons for hair loss.

No matter what you do to your hair, it will not change the number of hair follicles on your head. Contrary to popular belief, shaving your head will not cause the hair to grow back thicker. There is nothing you can do add to the density of your hair. If you believe you are suffering from thinning (meaning you had thicker hair, but much of it has fallen out) there are products on the market that can help. For instance, Nioxin products are designed to thoroughly cleanse the scalp and the hair follicle and provide a healthier environment for the hair that has fallen out to regrow. It will not make your hair any thicker than what you were born with, but it will stimulate damaged follicles so the hair can grow back. In the meantime, try using styling products that are designed to give more volume. Sebastian makes a treatment called Body Double, which actually puts a coating on the hair to beef it up so that it temporarily looks fuller. This treatment would have to be done every 6-8 weeks, but does help.
