How do I remove cradle cap from my little girl who has thick hair?

Ok so my daughter is 8 months and I noticed she has cradle cap underneath. She was born with brownish-black hair and I never noticed it until now. So I was wondering what is a good way to remove it without her losing her hair in the process......???

How I always did it was:

Take a towel put it in the microwave until warm.. you of course will know if its the perfect temp by taking it out! put warm baby oil on your babys head wrap it in the warm towel and leave for 10-15min, this makes all the little scruffies nice and gooey! Take a fine toothed comb (or a lice comb if you happen to have one) and brush it out. It usually took about 90% of it off the first time for mine and a 2nd time would do it all. (a day or two later though)

This shouldnt remove her hair. never did mine...

they make cradle cap wash for the babies head. alternatively you could put a little baby oil on the scalp. what helped the most was using a soft brush on the scalp in addition to the cradle cap wash.

My daughter had it bad, and my mom got rid of it for me by using olive oil and a fine tooth comb. She rubbed the olive oil into her scalp and combed and combed (gently of course) and it never came back!

She may have just gotten it, particularly if it is dry in the house or you are washing her hair more often. What works best when my son gets occasional flare-ups is to rub some baby oil into his scalp at the beginning of the bath, and not to wash his hair until the end of the bath. I had read someplace that baby oil didn't work, but my pediatrician recommended it, and it works great for him.

There is a cradle cap shampoo that I use for my 15 weeks old and I cannot think of the name of it but it worked right away. It was a blue bottle and Winnie the poo was on the front of it. I bought it at Babies R Us. I used it 1 time and he had it bad, it worked immediatly. Sorry cant remember the name.

Some say baby oil, I never did that, I'd just comb her hair after it had been washed (the washing obviously softened up the dry skin chunks) but you could sure do the baby oil too. Just comb it for a while afterwards. It will look pretty nasty at first when all those flakes let loose and get stuck in her hair, but eventually you'll work through them.

take a baby brush and rub her head all over and then comb it out. if it get real bad or no better go to the doc. other people may have better ways though

Olive oil! Just slather it on and comb through. It will take a little while to get rid of it. I would not recommend a shampoo/prescription though. Babies don't need the chemicals., especially since cradle cap is not harmful

I used baby oil %26amp; a fine tooth baby comb when my daughter was a baby. Rub the oil in, and let sit for a few minutes. Then comb out the gunk!
