Is it normal for a man to lose the hair on his legs?

My calves are for the most part hairless. When I was younger they had alot of hair. My wife is quite jealous, but it looks a bit freaky. Any explanation?

I have experienced the same phenomena, as did my brother and father. Some say it's an indication of the early onset of diabetes, but my wife, who is a RN says this is just a myth, that this phenomena is the product of lessening testestarone

that is a function of aging among men. I believe that this is the case with myself. Personally, I am proud of all the wrinkles and gray hair. I earned it!!! As for less hairy legs, well, if that is the only sign of aging you have, you are ahead of the curve!!!

I think it is. My dad's legs are becoming less hairy with age. Eh, but I'm no expert. Just an opinion.

Depends. If you're older then 55-65. If you are, then i have no bleeping idea. =]

I have heard of it before and it has happened to me a few times.

I thought it may of been a seasonal thing, like through the winter, which is normally the times i notice i lose hair. Someone else told me it could be pants rubbing on your leg as you walk.

Also another option is to get your blood sugar checked. It is known for diabetics to lose leg hair, but i think that would be the whole leg not just part.

Just some ideas. I'm going with the seasonal thing. I mean cats and dogs lose hair certain times of year, right.

Do you wear socks that go up kinda high? Like for sports or anything? It might have just rubbed off the hair and discouraged it to grow back. I know a lot of guys that happens to

I too have no hair on my legs or under my arms but I have a full head of hair and a very hairy chest so who knows why. No big deal!!

Yes, i think it is, I have had about 4 boyfriends with this. My first boyfriend had shins completely free of hair, it was nuts, like he waxed. He said it was from constant friction from socks? whether or not that is true, i have seen it too many times for it not to be normal. Oh and age isnt a factor, because all of these men have been in there early 20's :) It was a seasonal thing either cause he was like this all the time, just a lucky trait,? I was definetely jealous!
