I wish to help the people that have lost their hair do to unfortunet circumstances.I don't know exactly what the process is for this endeaver so any help will be greatly appreaciated.

I'm looking for a hair salon that works with a group called locks of love.I'm in Temple near the Post Office.

check this site out http://www.locksoflove.org/donate_hair.p...

it has all the information you need.

I donated 18", and it feels good to help others, a couple months after the donation, I got a thank you card. It was not necessary, but it is good to know that it helped someone.

First of all, good for you! Locks of Love is a great organization...my sister cut off 13 inches of hair and sent it in!

Well if you can't find a salon you can send the hair in yourself to Locks of Love. Just put your hair in a tight ponytail (high or low, depends on how short you want your hair) and have the hairstylist cut right above the ponytail. This keeps the hair together and you can send it via mail.

Go to http://www.locksoflove.org for the address and more info!

Best of luck!!!

well, not much else to say

but you don't have to go to a particular salon to donate to locks of love. all you have to do is get the info and address from http://www.locksoflove.org and send it yourself.

As others have answered, I agree. Good for you to think of others and not just yourself when losing your hair. However there are some things to keep in mind when donating hair. It will best benefit if it is "virgin" hair...meaning NO chemicals (colours/perms). Secondly, it must be a minimum certain length. Either way, I'm sure it will help someone feel good again! See other sites that you can donate hair to. Thanks for caring!

You don't necessarily need the salon to participate. Locks of Love has a website with all the info and a form you fill out. Our salon participates by taking care of sending the hair to them for you. We wait until we have a bunch and send them all at once, but not all salons do that. Just call around and ask if they've done it before. Sometimes they will offer your cut for free. If they are just willing to help in cutting you ponytail off and you have to be responsible to send it is fine just make sure they know the specifications.

What to do about my dog loosing his hair?

my lab has lost his hair he has had past istory of this I thought it was yeast from the dog food but after changing his food he still had the same problem. took him to the vet and spent $500.00. We had a very cold day and I put hay-straw in his pen and his hair started to shed ok so now i stripped the pen from the hay and he looks a Mess! Do I need to get Black oil and rub over him or what do I do he stays itchy sounds crazy but I gave him Benadrill. PLEASE HELP!

What to do about my dog loosing his hair?

Hi, sorry about your dog, but there's no need to give it up, like some others would have you do. There is home remedies for everything if you know where to look. Try going to http://www.earthclinic.com and read up on mange and doggie skin conditions. p.s. there are home remedies there too for this "itchiness w/hairloss".

What to do about my dog loosing his hair?

benadrill is ok But it doesn't solve the problem. manage would cause a dog to loose hair. First off why is the dog in a pen? my dogs sleep in my bed and have full run of the house when I am home and gone. Your dog has serious problem. A dog should never be outside in hay when it is cold. You need to give the dog up to someone that will take better care of him.

What to do about my dog loosing his hair?

Have the vet do a full thyroid panel. Also if its mostly on the flank it may be the harmless Seasonal Flank Alopecia which there really isn't much you can do but let time do its thing. Some people give melatonin for SFA.I've not had luck with that though. Your dog may also be allergic to the straw.

What to do about my dog loosing his hair?

your dog might be suffering from alapeasha

my bulldog has it and the vet told me to buy seratonin 3mg and it calms them down.

What to do about my dog loosing his hair?

Have your vet check your dog's thyroid level, this is often an overlooked problem, don't ever give your pet OTC drugs without first checking with a vet and black oil is a definite no-no

What to do about my dog loosing his hair?

Might be Mange, you can buy shampoo at the pet store or your vet might have it follow the directions, I believe you bath your dog 1x or 2x a week. I had a dog with the same problem.

What to do about my dog loosing his hair?

go to the vet sometimes are kidney or lever problems an just a diet food can be OK

anyway is normal loos some hair

What to do about my dog loosing his hair?

yo have to go him to a vet or buy a medicines for him

Help ..am 26yrs , i play alot with My HAIR !!?

It is nervous.

You can try meditation - relaxation - yoga.

You can try hypnosis : the doc will suggest you during the sleep, to quit this bad habit.

I did hypnosis to quit smoking but it didn't worked for me, that it doesn't mean that hypnosis doesn't work for other people. Try, you never know !

Ovarian cyst and excessive hair loss?

I've been losing a lot of hair for the past year--literally half of my hair is lost. I found out 3 mths ago that I have an ovarian cyst. My blood results are normal now, though they were a little abnormal at first.About 2 weeks after the 1st test and the blood results magically became normal. Do cysts go away? Does anyone know how and/or when the hair loss will stop? It's totally depressing me, especially since I've been to the dermatologist and he just recommended Lidex and Nizoral shampoo, which did not help at all. I have a large amount of hair falling every single day, but when I wash my hair (about 2-3 times a week) double the amount comes out and even more comes out after I comb my hair after washing it. I don't know how much more positive I could stay. I keep reassuring myself that it will stop soon, but I'm just afraid of going bald.Should I get retested?Periods are basically normal now .I have gained 25lbs in abt 1 yr, maybe due to the cyst. Please help if u can.

Ovarian cyst and excessive hair loss?

Do you have Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS)? If so, hair loss is common with this disease (as well as hair growth on other areas of your body). Weight gain, particularly around the midsection, is also a symptom of PCOS. If you have PCOS you should be getting treated, usually with birth control pills taken continuously - over time this usually helps with hair loss (and excessive hair in other places). I've heard that Yaz, taken continuously is great for those with PCOS. You should definitely talk to your doctor about this. You don't want to talk to the dermatologist about PCOS, you need to talk to your gynecologist or primary care physician.

Ovarian cyst and excessive hair loss?

i dont think hair loss is connected to the cyst but i could be wrong. i was diagnosed with a cyst as well but i lose my hair everytime I am stressed.. mention this to your GYN and see what she says. Best of luck.

Ovarian cyst and excessive hair loss?

Yes, cysts can go away. I agree with another poster; your hair loss could be due to stress. Are you using minoxidol? It actually promotes hair growth and was recommended to one of my girlfriends when she experienced stress-related hair loss. It's OTC. Hers went away as soon as her rotten husband did (in other words, the hair loss stopped when her stress lowered). Best of luck.

What can i do to pervent hair lost?

I didn't know that the hair can be "PERVENTED"

A suggestion for people w/dry&damaged hair and a Question?

After changing my hair color 3 times this summer, I ended w/dry%26amp;damaged hair and lost a lot of hair. I have been trying many products to cure that.

I have just used Brazil Nuts (the body shop) and my hair got softer and felt more like human hair for the first time. It looked like doll's hair before.

But I still have very little and thin hair. I have been going to a dermotolagist and all of blood tests are OK. She says I must use vitamins and not have a hair cut or dye for a while and it would be OK. Do you think she is right? I am really feeling miserable. I asked to use Rogaine. My dermotogist tells it is not required.

But I am still losing a lot of hair. What can I do? How long does it take for hair to repair itself and grow (if it grows of course)?

PLEASE help!!!!

A suggestion for people w/dry%26amp;damaged hair and a Question?

your doctor is right. don't do anything to your hair except for a haircut or conditioning. no heat treatments, no coloring, straighening, curling or anything that will damage you hair.

there are vitamins specialized to treat the hair. herbal shampoos with aloe vera are effective too. stress plays a part in hair loss too, so don't get TOO stressed. my aunt went bald due to stress, so don't stress out too much. drink your vitamins and do some more research on which shampoos you can use. shampoos can to be very harsh to the scalp which also contribute to the hair loss you are experiencing. change shampoos and use a milder shampoo with aloe vera.

if your dermatologist didn't tell you to use rogaine, follow her advice. it'll take some time, probably months for hair to get back to normal.

A suggestion for people w/dry%26amp;damaged hair and a Question?

Well, if your thyroid is Okay, I suggest that you take vitamins like Vitamin Bs and Biotin too. Try Rainbow vitamin complex for hair, skin and nail. It contains the initial vitamins. You can buy this from wholefoods. Good Luck!

A suggestion for people w/dry%26amp;damaged hair and a Question?

Stop dying your hair, it will just keep drying up your hair especially if you are lightening it. It is okay to have thin hair, I have a friend of mine with thin hair and she is beautiful anyway. It is what is on the inside that counts not the outside. In years from now, your beauty will be gone and all that is left is what is on the inside. Why would you dye your hair three times in a few months anyway? Learn to accept yourself the way you are and I am sure you are beautiful and you will feel beautiful. There is also a time in the year that we call chestnut season this is when you tend to lose more hair than usual. Guess what it is about this time of year. So stop worrying about your hair and go natural. Vitamins is also good for you.

A suggestion for people w/dry%26amp;damaged hair and a Question?

Wow, I am really sorry to hear about that, ok your Dr. is the boss, and if she said no to the rogaine, listen to her, one thing I would ask her, ask her if you can use nioxin, it is all natural, and botanical. not like rogaine, it doesn't use the harsh chemicals, i am sending you the link to their website, maybe you can show her.

another thing I would recommend doing daily/weekly scalp massages. It will help stimulate your hair follicles, and promote hair growth.
