I am a boy of 16. My hair loses it's glaze in a few hours after my bath. A friend told me that I should apply hair gel. Is it good? If yes tell me what gel should I be using? If not tell me what can I do?
Should I apply hair gel, if not what should I do?
Hair gel is good but only when you choose the right kind...the IC brand or Proclaim brand have really good gel...but have you tried bee's wax....that is really good if you want your hair to stay put and stay slick n sheen...

Try a better brand like Martrix has a shine gel that smells great and leave your hair looking hot all day.

no, hair gel just hardenss and it looks unnatural and it flakes up. just use mousse, i know alot of guys in my school who use mousse, it looks natural without hardening up and flaking. just be sure to use a good brand

16 years old and you've never used hair gel, it sounds like you've been living in a cave.
Go out straight away and buy some.
Some gel can be used to create spikes, some adds shine, some adds texture, some creates a wet-look, etc.
To put it simply:
-Gels can create spikey looks, add shine, and harden styles.
Some gels create a wet-look.
-Pastes texturise hair.
-Fibre-gum is used for REALLY spikey looks, or sleeking hair back.
-Wax is similiar to fibre-gum, but somewhat less sticky and hardening.
-Glue adds shine, glues strands together, and creates spikes.
-Putty is generally used for long hair (Chin-length) to create manga/anime styles, ie, HUGE HARD SPIKES!
To attain a wet-look (You mean this by glaze after a bath right?), use a gel formulated for this purpose (Taft Wet-look Gel for example), or a hair glue such as fructis styling glue.
Read the labels of hair products to determine which ones give the look you want.
